The Next 'Call Of Duty' Really Should Be 'Modern Warfare 4'

A new rumor has surfaced surrounding the Call of Duty franchise. This time it's not about the upcoming Black Ops 4 shooter from Treyarch, but rather 2019's offering from Infinity Ward.

We're still almost a year from an official reveal for the yet-unannounced game, but a new rumor suggests that the original Call of Duty developer will be returning to the Modern Warfare sub-franchise.

The last game in that series was Modern Warfare 3 which launched way back in 2011. Since then, Infinity Ward has tried new things, releasing Ghosts in 2013 and Infinite Warfare in 2016. Neither game was a huge hit with critics or gamers, though I liked the Infinite Warfare campaign.

By the time that game released, the community was getting fed up with the wall-running and double-jumping, which is one reason that Sledgehammer Games' Call of Duty: WWII ended up being a hit. Gamers were just glad to be back to a more traditional Call of Duty experience.
